One of Nike's elite ranges of running shoes the Alphafly 3 is the newest edition to Nike's road racing range. These running shoes were built with elite runners and are a great option for any marathon runners. This shoe allows runners to set personal bests (PBs) in training and when racing.
I am currently training for the Manchester Marathon taking place in April 2025. I have been using these running shoes as part of my training. Before using these shoes I was struggling to find a pair that provided the balance of comfort and speed. However, since using the Alphafly 3 I have noticed the cushioning and lightweight feel of the trainers. Personally, I have been running faster times since using these Nike shoes.
Nike's innovative technologies in the shoe has provided me my favourite running shoes yet. This is because of the use of: zoom x cushioning; a carbon fibre plate and the lightweight breathable design. This technology creates a shoe perfect for longer distances, saving energy and efficiency for marathon training and race day.
The only downside to this road racing trainer is the milage. The Alphafly 3 expects 200-300 miles of optimal performance. Compared to many other alternatives which can last up to 400-500 miles. This is a common sacrifice in performance shoes as they are made for speed and efficiency and record times, rather than 'daily wear'. Top athletes such as, Kelvin Kiptum wore the Nike Alphafly 3's in the Chicago Marathon, setting a new world record and fastest ever recorded men's marathon time. Sifan Hassan also recorded the second fastest women's marathon of all time in these trainers.
Overall, I have found it is clear the Nike Alphafly 3 is one of the best options for long distance running and especially marathons. I have personally found this in my own marathon training and will be wearing these shoes in The Manchester Marathon.
